Abstract
Electromagnetic fields in general rotationally uniaxial media are studied. Six components of the fields are solved using the method of separation of variables. By grouping the proper terms, the electromagnetic fields are finally expressed in a very compact form by introducing the modified spherical vector wave functions. The dyadic Green's function in an infinite uniaxial medium is subsequently derived and expanded in terms of the same vector wave functions. It is shown that the expressions of both the fields and the dyadic Green's function are reducible to those of simpler cases.
