Abstract
Due to the growing demand for high-quality medical service, it is important to improve the efficiency of patients' planning system. This research aims to provide an effective tool on patient planning through rescheduling, taking into account real-time changes that traditional planning systems often struggle to handle. Initially, an offline patients' rescheduling system was designed to help clinics respond to the real-time demands before or at the start of a visit day. Based on the offline model, the impacts of different parameters were evaluated. To be noticed, a higher level of overbook increase system's ability to change that enhance the stability of model's performance. Subsequently, the online rescheduling model was introduced. Compared with offline model, online version is used within a visit day. It is a more dynamic and intelligent rescheduling system that can adapt to real-time changes(consider walk-ins and no-shows). And walk-in behavior has less negative impact compared with no-show behavior. By incorporating responsiveness to actual situations, the approach enhances the flexibility of the original planning system which can also be applied to other service systems.
