Abstract
The adsorption of atoms on the tube walls of (8,0) boron nitride nanotubes (BNNTs) has been studied using the density functional theory. Adsorption of either H or F (exohedral doping) on the B site imparts hole carrier conduction characteristics on the BNNT; however, co-adsorption on both of the B and N dimer pairs results in compensation. © 2005 American Institute of Physics.
