Abstract: The dissociative absorbate geometries of water on Si (1 0 0) 2 × 1 reconstructed surface proposed by Larson et al. are investigated by using CNDO method. The bond lengths of Si-O, O-H and Si-H are calculated and reasonable results are obtained. The calculated bond strengths of SiO-H, Si-OH are generally lower than the experimental data. © 1989.
