Abstract: The acoustic anomalies in barium-doped lead germanate have been studied using Brillouin light-scattering techniques for four barium concentrations of 2.0%, 4.3%, 5.0% and 6.6%. Contrary to expectation, the anomalies in the Brillouin shift and width are found to be clearly observable and much larger than anticipated, particularly so for the 6.6% doped crystal. © 1989.
