dc.description.abstractThe germaimines RN=GeH2 [where R=CF3 and (CF3)2NO], synthesised by methods involving condensation reactions of GeH4 with CF3NO and (CF3)2NONO respectively, underwent addition reactions with HI to give RNHGeH2I and stepwise substitution reactions with (CF3)2NO to afford the derivatives RN=GeH[ON(CF3)2]and RN=Ge[ON(CF3)2]2, together with a quantitative amount of (CF3)2NOH. These nitroxy derivatives have been found to undergo cleavage reactions with HCl to give the corresponding chloro derivatives, namely RN=GeCl[ON(CF3)2] and RN=GeCl2. © 1995.
