Abstract: A series of polynuclear heterometallic complexes (OC)5M(μ-dppf)M′(CO)5 (M, M′ = Cr, Mo, W; M ≠ M′) and (OC)5M(μ-dppf)Mn2(CO)9 (dppf = 1,1′-bis(diphenylphosphino) ferrocene) has been synthesized at room temperature based on the metallo-ligand M(CO)5(η1-dppf). The use of amine oxide as a decarbonylant preserves the integrity of the MnMn bond. The mixed metals are linked by a singly-bridging diphosphine group which does not perturb the two metal spheres. © 1990.
