Abstract: The pentafluoronitrosobenzene C6F5NO has been shown from infrared spectral, 19F NMR spectral and single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies to undergo oxidation at the para-position upon reaction with [OS3H(μ-H)(CO)10(PPh3)] to afford [OS3(μ-H)(CO)10(PPh3)(ONC6F4O)](I). The arsenic- and stibine- analogues of I [(OS3)(μ-H)(CO)10(MPh3)(XONC6F40)l (M = As, Sb)) were also isolated. © 1994.
