ScholarBank@NUS Repository. https://doi.org/10.1016/0022-1139(95)03354-8 | Abstract: | Trifluoronitrosomethane reacts with trifluoromethylarsine and bis(trifluoromethyl)arsine to afford CF3As[OBN(H)CF3]2 (A) and (CF3)2AsON(H)CF3 (B), respectively. Compound B has been found to decompose at 60 °C to give (CF3)2As(O)H, (CF3)2AsOH and (CF3)2AsF. The reactions of both A and B with anhydrous hydrogen chloride result in the cleavage of the As-O bond to afford quantitative yields of the respective arsenic chloride.
