Abstract: Indium tris N-methylpiperazinylcarbodithioate, [In{S 2CN(CH 2) 4NMe} 3], has been synthesized and characterized using elemental analysis, IR and NMR ( 1H, 13C{ 1H}). The solid state structure has been established by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis that shows bidentate coordination by each of the three dithiocarbamate ligands and a geometry intermediate between octahedral and trigonal prismatic. The thermal behavior of this complex has been investigated by thermogravimetric analysis. It yields In 2S 3 at 330°C.
