Abstract: The capability of an electrochemical membrane cell has been assessed for carbon dioxide removal from a breathing gas mixture. The experimental results were obtained under various operating conditions. The effects of such operating variables as Co2 input rates and current densities on the extent of CO2 separation are presented, and the usefulness of the electrochemical membrane cell in the removal of CO2 from a breathing gas mixture is discussed.
