Abstract: We report a new fluorescent light-up probe design strategy by conjugating fluorogens with aggregation-induced emission (AIE) characteristics, e.g. tetraphenylethene with a single-stranded oligonucleotide for homogeneous specific complementary DNA detection in solution. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2013.
