Abstract: The ground plane of coplanar waveguide (CPW) does affect analysis if the dimensions are comparable to the elements. A simple relationship between the peak S11 response and ground width was found using a curve fitting process. A conservative limit in setting the ground width for `infinite' ground analysis was also verified. CPW lines in cascade was also investigated and interesting properties regarding the ground width were observed.
