|Abstract:||Xianbin Wang, T. T. Tjhung and C. S. Ng replies on the comments of Anders Mattsson, Geoffrey Mendenhall and Tim Dittemer on the analysis of the symbol error rate in a companded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (COFDM) system. They agreed that it is more meaningful to compare the performance of the companded signal to that of an uncompanded signal of equal power. But they argue that it is not correct to say the symbol error rate will always increase when the signal is companded.|
