dc.description.abstract | Quality of service (QoS) monitoring is required to provide sustained QoS in multimedia systems. Two schemes, relevant monitor (RM)-based scheme and improved relevant monitor (IRM)-based scheme to monitor QoS distribution are presented. With these schemes, a network manager can locate relevant monitors for flow metering and traffic information can be retrieved simultaneously. By consolidating the information from these monitors that are embedded in different network segments, the cause of possible QoS degradation can be located. | |
