Abstract: Geothermal resource indicated mainly by the high heat flow and the existing Sembawang hot spring in Singapore is studied. Available data from literatures, observations and measurements are studied and compiled to form a conceptual model. A numerical model is then calibrated to match the natural state. Sensitivity studies are performed on some parameters, e.g. rock permeabilities and thermal conductivities. Simulations of production scenarios with Enhanced Geothermal System (EGS) method are performed. Artificial fracturing in the EGS method is modelled with both porous and fracture media models. The models simulate the flow of injected cold water that is heated up as it flows through single/multiple layer(s) of the artificially fractured hot rock (about 150 ?C) at depth about 1.8 to 2.5 km below the Sembawang hot spring. The results indicate a possible generation of 2 MW electricity for production with EGS method with 3 layers of artificially fractured rock.
