Title: | Modeling with Renormalization Group and Randomization | Authors: | KUMAR YOGAPRAKASH | Keywords: | telerehabilitation, sensor, quaternion, physiotherapy, iOS, database | Issue Date: | 16-May-2014 | Citation: | KUMAR YOGAPRAKASH (2014-05-16). Modeling with Renormalization Group and Randomization. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | Post-stroke patients tend to have low participation rate in their supervised therapy schedule, due to factors such as high cost of therapy, complexity of exercises and difficulties involved in travelling to a rehabilitation centre. Therefore, a mobile tele-rehabilitation system that uses low-cost components to guide, monitor the patients' exercises and provide timely feedback is proposed. This system also facilitates tele-communication with a tele-therapist who can prescribe exercises for the patient and supervise his/her progress. The effectiveness of this system is being tested using a Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) consisting of patients from Ang Mo Kio Thye Hua Kwan Hospital (AMK-THKH) and Singapore General Hospital (SGH). This thesis presents in detail the wireless hardware sensors and software components (iOS applications and server scripts) of the mobile tele-rehabilitation system, methods used to validate the sensors, common workflows for the users of the system and concludes with preliminary results from the RCT. | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/79498 |
