dc.description.abstract | Research has shown that there are significant differences between the way humans behave towards and feel about human team-mates compared to the way humans behave towards and feel about computer team-mates. There has been not much existing work that examines how this difference in behavior towards and feelings about human and computer team-mates can be reduced. Two quantitative studies were conducted using real-time cooperative games Defend the Pass and Return the Ball to examine the research question of what can be done to reduce this difference in behavior and feelings. The results of the 2 studies were analysed in terms of interdependence and trade-offs in choices participants needed to make while playing the games, and provided 3 insights that could help designers of real-time cooperative games who want to ensure that players respond and feel about their human and computer team-mates more similarly. | |
