Abstract: The chemistry of acetonitrile/argon plasma was discussed. Infrared diode laser absorption, Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) and optical emission spectroscopies were used. Results showed that the major reaction pathways for CN in plasma involves electron impact dissociation and excitation processes.
