Abstract: A novel cationic conjugated polymer, poly[(9,9-dihexyl-2,7-fluorene)- alt-co-(2,5-bis{3-[(N,N-dimethyl)-N-ethylammonium]-1-oxapropyl}-1,4- phenylene)] dibromide, which is water-soluble and emits bright blue fluorescence both in solutions and as films, is synthesized through Suzuki coupling reaction and a post-polymerization treatment.
