Abstract: Bromolactonization of unsaturated acids and bromoacetoxylation of olefins proceeded smoothly in the presence of molecular sieves and N-bromosuccinimide. The molecular sieves can be recycled and reused, and the halogen carrier can be recovered effectively. © 2010 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
