dc.description.abstract | In a recent series of papers, the authors reported the miscibility behavior of poly(chloromethyl methacrylate) (PCMMA). The miscibility behavior of PCMMA is similar to that of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) in forming miscible blends with bisphenol-A polycarbonate and poly(α-methylstyrene-co-acrylonitrile). On the other hand, PCMMA also behaves like a chlorinated polymer in forming miscible blends with several polymethacrylates. It is well known that PMMA is miscible with poly(styrene-co-acrylonitrile) (SAN) over a certain copolymer composition range. It is envisaged that PCMMA may similarly be miscible with SAN. In this communication, the miscibility behavior of PCMMA/SAN blends is reported. | |
