Title: | Deterministic control in knowledge-based systems: Application to the development of a cybernetic analytical instrument | Authors: | Gunasingham, H. Wong, M.L. |
Issue Date: | 1988 | Citation: | Gunasingham, H.,Wong, M.L. (1988). Deterministic control in knowledge-based systems: Application to the development of a cybernetic analytical instrument. Journal of Chemical Information and Computer Science 28 (4) : 211-215. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | Cybernetic instruments combine real-time control with decision-making and interpretative capabilities. The implementation of a cybernetic instrument based on a knowledge-based system is described. A novel feature of the design is the integration of deterministic control with nondeterministic inference for the actual control of a process or experiment. Use is made of a frame representation scheme to link procedural and declarative knowledge. An application to pH control is discussed. © 1988 American Chemical Society. | Source Title: | Journal of Chemical Information and Computer Science | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/75914 | ISSN: | 00952338 |
