Abstract: In this paper, the overlapping resolution mapping scheme was applied to the gradient HPLC separation of selected phthalates. The procedure employs a minimum of seven experiments for the determination of the optimum mobile phase gradient for the desired separation. In the present work, solvent systems for iso-selective multisolvent gradient elution were used. The overlapping resolution mapping procedure was found to be a rapid and systematic approach for optimizing HPLC separations.
