Abstract: A charge-transfer complex between graphene oxide (GO) and pyrene dye PNPB has been synthesized by a simple ion-exchange process. Its highly specific interactions with DNA compared to other biomolecules (see scheme) allows selective and rapid detection of DNA in biological mixtures.
