Abstract: The damping characterization of aluminium based composites using an innovative circle-fit approach was discussed. The dependence of damping capability of the composite with total percentage of SiC particulates was also studied. It was found that the damping of the pure aluminium matrix increased as a result of presence of SiC particulates.
