Abstract: A new approach for modelling the milling process geometry is presented. The main geometrical parameters are modelled on the basis of the true tooth trajectory of a trochoid. A simulation study using the model has been conducted to investigate the effects of the feed, cutter diameter and number of teeth on the process geometry parameters.
