Abstract: New closed form error probability expressions for N-diversity noncoherent detection of M-ary orthogonal signals in Rician fading and Gaussian noise, in the presence of partial-band jamming interference are derived. These general error probability formulas are applicable to frequency-hopped spread spectrum (FH-SS) communication systems using M-ary frequency-shift keying (MFSK) modulation and noncoherent detection, in which L of the M frequency slots are subjected to jamming. The effects of frequency-hopping on the symbol error probability are considered and new symbol error probability curves versus signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) are presented.
