Abstract: In this paper, we employ iteratively decodable codes in a turbo-like receiver of a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) communication system. With such a receiver, we compare the decoding complexity and performance of a turbo code with a lowdensity-parity-check (LDPC) code. For the same level of decoding complexity, we show that LDPC codes perform better than turbo codes in a typical high data rate MMO-OFDM system. © 2007 IEEE.
