dc.description.abstractThe effect of drive modes on the acoustic noise of fluid dynamic bearing (FDB) spindle motor was discussed. Using this kind of bearings, the acoustic noise caused by the mechanical source is much reduced and the effect of electromagnetic sources on acoustic noise is easy to be identified. It is easily applied to the motors used in hard disk drives and other electronic products.
