Abstract: A tip consisting of a synthetic multiple layer coating was proposed for magnetic force microscopy (MFM). The total moment of the tip was approximately given by the difference of the moments of the two ferromagnetic (FM) layers. A schematic figure of the proposed tip was shown. A four-domain closure structure was obtained without any apparent domain wall curvature.
