Abstract: The static out-of-plane behaviour of masonry walls strengthened with fiber reinforced polymers (FRP) was investigated. A method to estimate the blast resistance of such strengthened walls was also proposed. The FRP system provided significant improvement in wall response to out-of-plane loadings. The results showed that the wall failed gradually by yielding of the stiffener by providing intermediate stiffener.
