Abstract: Oxidation-induced constituent separation of ternary Fe/CoO nanocrystals has been investigated to evidence their exchange bias mechanism, which is important for conceptually new design, synthesis and utilization of magnetic nanostructures. © 2009 The Royal Society of Chemistry.
