Abstract: Silver-modified graphene oxide nanosheets (Ag-GO) were prepared and used as a novel antibacterial material, which exhibited a superior antibacterial activity towards Escherichia coli (E. coli) due to the synergistic effect of graphene oxide and silver nanoparticles. © 2011 The Royal Society of Chemistry.
