|Abstract:||Hexagonal γ-MnS nanorod crystals of different diameters and length scales were hydrothermally synthesized in the presence of biomolecule L-cysteine and Mn(II) salts, and characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The effects of different anions on the formation of hexagonal γ-MnS nanorods were discussed to show the importance of a precursor in synthesizing such nanomaterials.|
