|Abstract:||A sulfanylhexanol coupling agent is crucial for the preparation of GaAs-poly-(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) hybrids by surface-initiated atom-transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) of methyl methacrylate (see scheme) as it passivates the GaAs surface and also immobilizes the ATRP initiator.
