An improved general higher-order, thick-laminated shell theory was established to analyze the vibrations of thick cylindrical shells. The theory is based on a summation of displacements of classic thin-shell theory and displacements due to transverse shear forces. The numerical results of the higher order shear deformation theory and the first order shear deformation theory were compared with existing results.
