Title: | Effect of tool nose radius on the stability of turning processes | Authors: | Rahman, M. Matin, M.A. |
Issue Date: | May-1991 | Citation: | Rahman, M.,Matin, M.A. (1991-05). Effect of tool nose radius on the stability of turning processes. Journal of Materials Processing Tech. 26 (1) : 13-21. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | Among various machining parameters, tool signature has a significant contribution to the cutting dynamics and the stability of a machining process. Investigations carried out so far by different researchers regarding cutting dynamics and the stability of a machining process have failed to consider and evaluate the effect of tool nose radius on the stability of a turning process. In this study, both static and cutting tests have been carried out to investigate the effect of the tool nose radius on the stability of a cutting process: the results of both types of tests are found to have good qualitative agreement. A theoretical analysis carried out in this study has further substantiated the results obtained. © 1991. | Source Title: | Journal of Materials Processing Tech. | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/58203 | ISSN: | 09240136 |
