|Abstract:||The electrical and electronics industries are traditionally labour intensive. In this paper, three low cost automation projects were presented. The first case involved the assembly of the impeller for a hair-dryer. Secondly, the automation of an aluminium TO-3 header for a power transistor was reviewed. The third example dealt with the mechanisation of the loading of lead frames for the encapsulation of integrated circuits on a transfer moulding press.|
