Abstract: A novel wideband low-temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) coplanar waveguide-fed (CPW) two-layered monopole antenna is proposed. The two-layered radiating elements of the antenna are linked by via holes based on the LTCC technology. The measured impedance bandwidth based on a -10 dB return loss is about 117.3% (from 3.76 to 14.42 GHz). The radiation patterns of the antenna at operating frequencies of 5.0, 8.0 and 11.0 GHz and the gain of the antenna are also presented. © IEE 2005.
