dc.description.abstractA representation method for arbitrarily shaped image segments was proposed. An efficient basis selection method was found by restricting the basis functions in an area defined by coefficient selection mask (CSMask). Four sub-masks were used together to describe the segment shape in the four subbands from one level of wavelet decomposition.
