Abstract: This paper presents a inner-loop integral resonant controller (IRC) to suppress resonances in a micro-actuator. Dampening the flexible modes with IRC allows the designer to use a reduced order model for the dual stage actuator (DSA) and hence simplifies the controller design for the DSA. Moreover, IRC results in a solution of less complexity and greater robustness than the notch filter method. © 1965-2012 IEEE.
