|Abstract:||We investigate the magnetoresistance (MR) contribution in a ring-shaped ferromagnetic structure with local current and voltage contacts. We find out that overall MR response of the ring can be simply expressed as a linear combination of the MR ratios of the respective ring segments. The theoretical analysis has been confirmed through both micromagnetic simulations and MR measurements on a rectangular ring structure. The findings from this work provide a fast and convenient way for the interpretation of magnetization reversal process in ferromagnetic ring structures and magnetic random access memory design. © 2007 American Institute of Physics.|
