This letter reports a new and general micromechanical model for estimating the mechanical properties of composites made of two component materials, i.e. fibers and bodys. The backbone of the model is a bridging matrix of coefficients connecting the macro-stresses of a body with those of a fiber in a representative volume. A semi-empirical approach has been proposed to identify the matrix with which all the mechanical properties of the composite can be easily obtained.
