Abstract: In this thesis, a multiscale modeling approach to model the progressive damage in textile composites has been developed. The hierarchical models of textile composites at three different length scales (micro, meso, and macro) are developed with a novel two-way multiscale coupling technique. In this manner, the multiscale stress analysis is performed and the damage mechanisms can be captured within one finite element.
