|Abstract:||Biradicaloids based on quinoidal rylenes! Soluble and stable tetracyanoquaterrylenequinodimethane (QR-CN) and tetracyanohexarylenequinodimethane (HR-CN) were synthesized. QR-CN has a closed-shell quinoidal structure in the ground state, whereas HR-CN has a singlet biradical ground state.
