A three dimensional modelling of hydrodynamics and suspended sediment transport in an estuarine environment is presented. In order to model the varied settling properties of sediments in such an environment, the sediments are broadly grouped into several fractions parameterised respectively to adequately describe the corresponding erosion-sedimentation processes. The model is able to reproduce observations obtained in field measurements in an estuarine environment. © 2009 World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.
