NANOSTRUCTURES WITH PLASMON-ENHANCED MULTI-PHOTON PHOTOLUMINESCENCE: PREPARATION, OPTICAL PROPERTIES AND APPLICATIONS. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | Noble metal nanoparticles possess an interesting property called local surface plasmon resonance. The luminescence enhancement occurs when fluorophores approach to the metal surface. In addition, the two-photon photoluminescence (TPPL) of metal nanoparticles also can be enhanced by metal nanoparticles. TPPL has various applications in bioimaging, biosensing and phototherapy due to their unique advantages such as deep penetration and low background. Here, various metal and metal-based nanostructures were prepared to study the plasmon-enhanced two-photon and multi-photon excitation photoluminescence phenomena. Besides, their potentials of acting as cancer cells and bacteria imaging agents, insecticide detection probes and antibacterial materials were further explored. | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/49440 |
