Abstract: Pipeline network contributes a very significant capital investment in a chemical plant. After long services, leakages may occur in a pipeline network as a result of corrosion or continuous operations under severe operating conditions. So a method to predict and plug the leakage more quickly and accurately in the pipeline networks when leakages happen is needed.In this study transformation method is used to calculate flow rates in branches of the network and analysis the changes when the leakage happened. By analysis the data of the leak system, the behaviors of network with the leakage are obtained and some laws are concluded. Based on these patterns, two prediction methods on the leakage in the network are developed. The application of this method on the study cases show that this method is valid and comparing with previous methods it use less time in finding location of leakage process.
