CHIRAL CYCLIC SELENIUM CATALYZED ENANTIOSLECTIVE HALOCYLIZATION REACTIONS. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | The asymmetric halocyclization reactions have drawn great attentions in recent years, and many successful cases in this area utilized multi-functional type catalysts to achieve both high ee and yield. Based on the established interaction between halogen and chalcogen observed long time ago but barely utilized in the asymmetric catalysis field, we developed a series of cyclic selenium catalyst that has only one active reaction site, which was proved to be able to induce enantioselectivity in halocyclization reaction. After more detailed investigations, mainly the modification of substrates and catalysts. The cyclic selenium catalysts was found to be surprisingly powerful to effect both good ee and yield in the bromoaminocyclization of trisubstituted unsaturated sulfonamides. The product obtained can be transformed stereospecificly to 2,3-disubstituted piperidine which was potentially bioactive. | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/47533 |
